Après « Ain’t No Other Man », « Hurt » et « Candyman », Christina Aguilera présente « Oh Mother », le nouveau et quatrième single tiré de son troisième album studio, « Back To Basics », paru en août 2006 sur RCA Music Group. A l’instar de « Hurt », « Oh Mother » est une ballade sublime et poignante où Christina Aguilera offre une interprétation extraordinaire, mettant en valeur cette voix si puissante avec une aisance et un naturel absolu. « Oh Mother », vraie déclaration de Christina Aguilera à sa mère, inclut le sample du titre « Vois Sur Ton Chemin », tiré de la bande originale du film « Les Choristes ». « Oh Mother » est annoncé en CD single pour le 24 septembre sur RCA Music Group.
